Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology wanted to create a digital showcase of studet design projects. These projects were previously showcased in a live event or exhibition. With the outbreak of a global pandemic, there was a dire need for an exclusive digital showcase. Apart from related showcase projects, the site also featured events and stories that were curated across special themes.
We worked with different faculty stakeholders to understand the types of showcase formats that students worked on. Subsequently, we built a suitable taxonomy on the site to categorize these these projects across various undergraduate and postgraduate streams as well as common overarching themes.
To feature the concept of umbrella themes that students drew their inspiration from, we incorporated a feature to help discover projects through a color coded tag cloud of keywords. A dedicated events section was built to promote upcoming and ongoing events. An extensive student directory was also built for the graduating students with profile pages featuring associated projects.
A full fledged project, deliverables spanned across services such as functionality mapping; sitemap and navigation; content inventory; wireframes; content design and visual design. Beyond this, the website was brought to life by developing it on the chosen content management solution in an agile development model.
